Students may wish to appeal their final grade for 2 reasons: they feel they have been marked unfairly or they are appealing a charge of XF.

If a student feels they have been marked unfairly, they can write a letter to the Registrar’s office asking for an analysis of the final grade within three weeks of the date the grade was issued. This will begin the appeals process.

If a student has had a charge of XF laid against them, they have 10 working days to send a response to the Registrar’s Office and 3 weeks to send a letter to the Academic Appeals Committee if they wish to appeal.

Any student seeking more information regarding appeals and their corresponding rights can contact your Students’ Union VP Advocacy, Lindy Herrington (Rosaria Rm. 118A). Any student seeking support in their appeal can contact the Students’ Union and they will be put in touch with the appropriate Student Representative (i.e. Science Rep, Professional Studies Rep, etc).

ACADEMIC COMPLAINTS

If you or any student you know ever has a complaint about a professor, they are encouraged to visit the office of the Students' Union VP Academic Affairs in Rosaria 118A. Academic rights and potential courses of action for each situation can be discussed.
